SLOW DAY IN BANGKOK-HALF WAY POINT

SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 2016

So, I finally get a chance to move a litter slower today.I chatted with family in Florida this morning and then took the train to school.  There have been issues with the online course presentation.  I did meet with the technology coordinator and we think we have worked out the glitches.  I told my students yesterday that I was coming in to meet with anyone who was interested in getting together.  I had nine of my twelve students come to class today.  I knew that three of my students had a meeting in Pattaya, southern Thailand.  I was very happy to see that, basically, 100% of my students showed up for when they could have had the day off.   On the way to school I stopped and bought a couple bags of fruit; Mangosteens and  Lychees.  The class today on last two hours but we had a relaxed bonding time together.  We did one activity where I started stories with a setting and then after each person wrote a paragraph, they paced it to the next student.  At the end, we had 9 stories that every student participated in writing a portion of it.  I then read each story one by one.  It was good for some good laughs.  I am going to briefly have my online class tonight from 6:00 to ??????.

Below:  I finally broke down and for the first time in all my visits to Thailand I ate from a street vendor.  The aroma of the chicken skewers drew me in and I feel fine four hours later.  Delicious!

This water lily was actually by the golf course and it looked so beautiful that I had to snap a picture.

Street vendors next to the school and they did not look as clean as the chicken skewer vendor.

Thailand Facts:

1.  I broke the law today.  It is against the law to leave your house without underwear on.  I am legal now.  I went out early to get my laundry and hid from the police as I went to avoid arrest.

2. Thailand is the largest exporter of rice in the world.
