Long Live the King----Today marks his 70th year as the King of Thailand

Huge celebration today in Thailand for the King.  The country is celebrating his 70th year as King of Thailand.  No other King in the world has served longer. Every day of the week has a color that is associated with each of the seven days.  The King was born on Monday so everyone is dressed in yellow.  The other days of the week are as follows:

First week of teaching in Thailand:  My students have decided that they would rather come to class for three days and have one day, Wednesday as the online class.  I think it is better that we meet face to face and they all agreed.  Wednesday is the meeting day for their corporation, so our class will run from 11 AM to 2 PM.  They will have two worksheets with interview questions to answer and hand in to me on Thursdays.  There schedules are very busy.  After class, they go back to work until 10 PM.  They are all paying 14,000 baht per week to take this class.  (400 US dollars).  They all received a copy of my cv/resume in February and could accept or reject taking the class with me.  I just found that out today.

Two of the staff here at school, Paul and Chris  asked me today if I would consider taking the position that is open for the high school English teacher, grades 9-11.  It is the highest paying teaching job I have seen in Thailand, 31,000 USD for 9 months.

Below:  Several pictures of the FBT store in Bangkok.  They sell only soccer merchandise.  It stands for Football Thai........FBT factory. The shirts go on forever.  The stores are throughout Bangkok and all of Thailand's cities.

Thailand qualifying games for the 2018 world cup are being                   held here rather than the huge city stadium.

There were two skinny as a rail cats that were in an alley.  I bought them a can of cat food to share.

Below:  I plan to eat at this open air fish market tonight for a real Thai experience.  They
have Grouper, Talapia, Red Snapper, Shrimp, Squid and Rock Lobster along with clams and mussels.  Those are some big shrimp.........Jumbo, Jumbo.

This guy is getting the hot coals going to cook the seafood over these buckets.  He is fanning the coals.

Below;  Some jerseys I had made at a wholesale outlet on the back streets of Bangkok.  When I went to pick up the jerseys, there were fifty Thai street vendors picking up 10- 100 jerseys each that they ordered to sell on the street for triple the price.  My friend Rocky that I met at the Thailand-Jordan game helped me save over 200 dollars.  Thank you Rocky!  I will buy you a Singha.
